My Music Journey

Music has always been a part of my daily life. When my dad bought me my first electronic keyboard, everything changed. Despite my lack of knowledge in reading or playing music, I really wanted to play the instrument.

Initially unsure of what to do, I turned to the internet to learn the basics. However, the amount of confusing terms and the difficulty felt like learning a new language. So, I took some lessons from a cantor and enrolled in a local music school, marking the beginning of my journey as a music student.

Writing Music and Exploring DAWs

After six months of practicing and playing, I felt the need to compose my own music. As always, I started writing music on manuscript paper and began humming melodies and playing on the keyboard, noting down every idea that came to me, yet feeling something was lacking. That’s when I discovered Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).

I came across many DAWs; each offered a unique experience, but FL Studio captured my attention. Initially, due to my limited knowledge of DAWs, I gradually learned its basics and shifted my focus to music production. Over time, I improved and started creating music in genres like chill hop and lo-fi, aiming to expand into new musical territories.

Journey into Sound Engineering

After learning about DAWs, I hit a major obstacle: everything I made had some degree of imperfection in its sound. Despite using EQ, compressors, and other effects plugins, my music lacked something each time I finished it. The volume sounded off, the quality was poor, instruments clashed, and more issues arose. This led me to study sound engineering alongside music, where I learned advanced topics such as sound design, mixing, and mastering.

After graduation, I established my own home studio, Frozen Waves, and launched a YouTube channel to share my music. I also took on various projects, honing my skills and gaining practical experience.

Inspiration from Video Games

During challenging times, video games brought me comfort. It wasn’t only the gameplay that interested me, but also the soundtracks, environments, and stories. This got me interested in game music and sound design. Now, I keep learning and exploring this field, hoping to contribute to game music production.

In the meantime, I create new music for my YouTube channel and do quality assurance for games in my spare time.
